The Cecil  Hotel is located in the heart and soul of the old part of Athens. You can walk from this charming quaint hotel to the old market and to the Acropolis.

The hotel was renovated, in a very simple, good old fashion sense. The elevator is a cage style elevator and is absolutely incredible.

This hotel was a very practical hotel for me, as it was within walking distance of the Monastiraki Metro. Plaka is just a few block away and many restaurants, and cafes are very short walking distance. What I loved about it was how quiet the room was at night, it was for being in such a busy street. The best part of the hotel is that from the roof you can actually see the Acropolis.

We were welcomed there, they spoke English and French. They gave us a wonderful hotel room with bathrooms, with air conditioning and TV. Free Wi-fi was available within the hotel building.

Buffet breakfast was included and was a great assortment of bake goods, yogurt, fruits, coffee and juices.

Price for the room per night was $46 with breakfast. Incredible price for the city of Athens and so close to everything!

If your priority is convenient, simple, clean and very affordable, the Cecil Hotel is a great choice!
