1- The Arch
The Arch in Cabo San Lucas is one of the many tourist focuses as it is one of the most distinctive monuments of Mexico.
It is also called Land’s End, because if you draw a straight imaginary line toward the South, you do not have any land until the South Pole. The Arch has become the icon photo of Cabo San Lucas. It was formed after huge erosion. At one point, you could walk under the Arch, as it was not all under water.
It is there that the Pacific Ocean becomes the Golf of California/ Sea of Cortez
2- Lover’s Beach
Lover’s beach is the perfect beach next to the Arch. You and yours truly will be able to enjoy a beautiful walk. You can prepare a nice picnic, take a boat taxi to get you there, it takes about 15 minutes ride and it is very inexpensive. You can spend the day sunbathing, swimming in the Sea of Cortez, and snorkeling.
3- Playa Santa Maria
Playa Santa María is one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen.
It is about 20 minutes from the Marina and is located at kilometer 12. It is one of the best places for snorkeling. It is a little Cove and it is very remote and quaint. The access sign is hard to see and you will have to go on a dirt road to get the parking lot. After that, it is a beautiful short walk before you get to the protected beach area. This is not a tourist beach, no vendors, and no food, so bring what you need with you!
4 – El Tropico del Cancer
Roughly one hour North driving of Cabo, in the direction of Santiago, you will stumble upon the famous Tropic of Cancer. El Tropico del Cancer is also called the Northern Tropic.
The place is really in the middle of nowhere and well worth going! A sign is posted, a huge globe of the Earth is there as a mini monument and a Catholic Chapel is there as well.
5- The Whales
Incredible tours are offered during the season to take you see the Whales that come to Cabo San Lucas.
Each winter Whales migrate south to mate and to breed. The beautiful lagoons of Cabo have become a yearly sanctuary for the Humpback Whales.
In the Tours, you will have the opportunity to see the Whales.
