The Ballantyne Hotel has it all, beautifully appointed guest rooms, luxury spa, excellent golf, amazing restaurants (be on the look out for my Chef of the Month, Chef Tilman), large banquet rooms and perfect location on the southern side of Charlotte, NC…..The is the complete package!
The sign that leads you to the Ballantyne is very well indicated. You can’t miss it! The beautiful “B” logo is welcoming you to luxury!
As you arrive in the courtyard, your eyes are drawn to the beautiful four-tier fountain that is in the front of the hotel.
Large columns, blue awnings on the front of the hotel, with the logo, lead you into the grand lobby of this AAA four diamond and four star Forbes luxury hotel.
This very spacious lobby has a large area to sit and relax during your stay. It’s a very classic look that has a warmth about it that guests will truly appreciate.
We approached the marble counter tops to check in. The dark wood and beautiful paintings greeted us, along with the very kind and professional staff. Check-in was fast and informative. I can see why the Ballantyne is part of the Luxury Collection Hotels. Nothing was left to chance, there were even bottles of water with the Ballantyne logo, at the disposition of guests as they get ready to go workout, head out for a round of golf or even an afternoon of shopping in the very upscale area of Charlotte, NC. And to assist you in your travels, the hotel provides laminated maps…..what a great touch!
Arriving in our room…….the magic number 633! Like the lobby, our room is a very classic and elegant space. The dark, cherry wood furniture was beautiful. Everything in the room exceeded my self-imposed standards of a luxury hotel property.
There are double doors that await you to take you into the luxury bathroom.
Last, but not least is the view. Our room is on the sixth floor, overlooking the 18th hole. What a great view! Be sure to ask for a room that overlooks the golf course.
The Ballantyne is so much more than just a hotel. It is a destination! The Ballantyne golf course will impress golfers. Guys, what a perfect place to come for a romantic weekend. Spend the day at the golf course while your wife gets some sun at the large pool as she waits for her next spa treatment (check out what I wrote about my experience at this amazing SPA.
There are two pool options for patrons.
The fun large pool outside with live entertainment, or the indoor pools that are very quiet and restful.
The outdoor pool is definitely a big draw for guests that want to relax, in addition to playing golf, dinner or shopping.
While waiting for my spa body treatment, I was able to work and relax by the pool.
You are able to order food next to the pool or just sit and enjoy a cocktail for which you might have a thirst.
I really liked that there were servers that would come around and ask if you wanted a drink or anything to eat. This is the kind of service you get at a luxury beach resort…yet almost unheard of at golf resort, another great touch!
The pool is not only very spacious, and is at the perfect temperature, but the blue “B” logo on the bottom of pool reminds you of where you are.
Plenty of lounging chairs, wide green umbrellas and large blue towels are available.
How incredibly lucky that at the time I am writing and working from the pool, there is an entertainer sining and playing the guitar for us.
Check out my pictures of the indoor pools, what a great space!! For the first time, I have come to a resort with a “resistance pool”, where you swim in one spot as the current rushes past you….who needs a huge lap pool what you have this!
The views from the inside pool are directly on the golf course! You can sit and lounge there as well.
As if these two indoor pools weren’t enough, there is also a jacuzzi and very nice fitness room.
I don’t want to spoil my future article about the Gallery Restaurant and the wonderful and extremely talented, Chef Tilman, but be sure to make reservations for a very nice evening enjoying a great menu. There will be a surprise for you at the end of your meal as well!
Like I stated in my opening, the Ballantyne Hotel is the complete package. The location is perfect. The golf is excellent. The outdoor pool with pool service was totally unexpected. The spa was an experience unto itself. The room was great. The restaurant was exceptional. Visit the Ballantyne for the day or for the weekend, you will enjoy your time here! https://www.theballantynehotel.com
